French nuclear engineering company Areva said Wednesday it has signed an agreement with Fresno Nuclear Energy Group to develop a new-generation nuclear power reactor in California’s Central Valley.
Areva, which last summer broke ground on a new manufacturing facility at Northrop Grumman Corp.’s Newport News shipyard, said components of the plant, if approved, would likely be built in Newport News.
