Transport of plutonium-mixed fuel to Japan delayed



Kansai Electric Power Co. and Chubu Electric Power Co. will postpone sea transportation of uranium-plutonium mixed-oxide fuel, known as MOX fuel, slated for this spring in the wake of the crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, company officials said Friday.

Kansai Electric officials said the firms decided on the postponement after the government told them that it could not ensure tight security for transportation as it is concentrating on reconstruction following the March (…)
