AMMAN, May 26 — Dozens of Jordanian activists on Saturday demonstrated in protest of their country’s plan to build a nuclear reactor.
At the sit-in in front of the prime ministry’s headquarters, the activists denounced the plan as detrimental to the environment, saying the project entails environmental and health risks.
They added that nuclear reactors require large amount of water for cooling off and that Jordan is one of the poorest countries in terms of water.
