L’unité a subi une panne d’un composant au sein de l’équipement de protection. EDF n’a pas cherché à informer le public plus tôt. Des incidents tels que ceux-ci renforcent l’idée que l’industrie nucléaire a une culture du secret.

A REACTOR at Torness Power Station experienced an unplanned shutdown on Sunday - leading a Green MSP to accuse operator EDF Energy of a "culture of secrecy".
Reactor 2 at the plant had been due to undergo a planned outage from tomorrow (Saturday), which will last six to eight weeks.
But the unit suffered a component fault within protection equipment on Sunday, so the maintenance work has started early.
An EDF spokeswoman said : "The reactor shut down safely and cooling to the reactor was maintained at all times. There were no health or environmental impacts."
Alison Johnstone, Green MSP for Lothian, said : "The first information about Sunday’s fault was via the media on Monday with EDF failing to place any details on their website or Twitter.
"While it’s a relief the shutdown did not result in any apparent power outage or environmental damage it’s baffling EDF did not seek to inform the public any earlier. Incidents such as these reinforce the view that the nuclear industry has a culture of secrecy."
