Urgent - Explosion at the nuclear facility in Marcoule - 1 death and 4 injured

A furnace exploded at the Marcoule nuclear site a facility belonging to the EDF, in the Gard, Monday, 12 September at 11:45am. This information was released two hours after the accident. This site contains numerous nuclear facilities, stores large quantities of radioactive waste and handles MOX fuel containing plutonium.

For now, no protective measures for the population have been taken by the authorities. The (…)
