16 Oct (NucNet) : Sweden’s Ringhals-2 will permanently shut down in 2019, with Ringhals-1 to follow in 2020, majority owner Vattenfall said after an extraordinary general meeting of Ringhals’s board yesterday.
Vattenfall said in April it wanted to close the units earlier than originally planned because they are unprofitable. Vattenfall had planned to operate the 881-MW Ringhals-1 and the 807-MW Ringhals-2 until about 2025.
