Prime Minister Naoto Kan is looking into the feasibility of separating the government’s nuclear safety agency from the industry ministry, government sources said Wednesday.
The Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency is currently under the wing of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, which has been actively promoting Japan’s nuclear power generation.
