EDF’s French EPR Delayed To 2016 ; Total Cost Up To EUR6 Billion



PARIS -(Dow Jones)- French state-controlled power group Electricite de France SA (EDF.FR) Wednesday said its third-generation nuclear reactor EPR project at its Flamanville, northern France, plant will be delayed until 2016, due to "both structural and economic reasons," which will bring the project’s total cost to EUR6 billion.

The reactor was initially expected to start production in 2014 and EDF last year estimated the cost of building the EPR at around EUR5 billion.
