Il ne s’agit pas d’un réacteur de puissance mais d’un réacteur de l’université d’État de l’Idaho. À 17 h 50 (Mountain Daylight Time) MDT, soit 23 h 50 UTC (Universal Time) le 31 mars 2020, le titulaire de la licence a déclaré un événement inhabituel en raison de l’activité sismique ressentie lors d’un tremblement de terre provenant du sud de l’Idaho. L’installation était fermée en raison de la suspension de toutes les activités du campus prévues en réponse à la pandémie. Le réacteur a été arrêté au moment du tremblement de terre et est resté surveillé constamment par le bureau de sécurité publique du campus. Des inspections de l’installation seront effectuées.
Le séisme a eu lieu à 270 km au nord ouest de l’Université : 44.448° N - 115.136° W

NOTIFICATION OF A NON-EMERGENCY UNUSUAL EVENT DUE TO A SEISMIC EVENT
The following is a summary of information received from the Idaho State University Reactor Facility via phone conversation :
At 1750 MDT on March 31, 2020, the licensee declared a Notification of Unusual Event due to seismic activity felt from an earthquake originating in southern Idaho. The facility was closed due to the suspension of all campus activities set forth by the pandemic response. The reactor was shutdown at the time of the earthquake and is being constantly monitored by the campus public safety office. Inspections of the facility will be performed.
The licensee notified the NRR Project Manager (Yin).
