HED LLC a reçu un tube contenant 4,625 milliards de Bq de krypton 85 dans un cylindre agréé pour seulement 0.185 milliards de Bq. Lors de l’évacuation du contenu dans une chambre, la dépressurisation ayant été insuffisante, tout le gaz est parti dans l’atmosphère. Des investigations sont en cours pour éclaircir ce problème.

RELEASE OF KRYPTON -85
The licensee received 125 millicuries of Krypton-85 in a cylinder that was in excess of their license limit. The license limit is 5 millicuries. During an experiment to transfer the Krypton-85 to an evacuation chamber, the chamber did not pressurize as expected, and all 125 millicuries of Krypton-85 was evacuated to atmosphere. The licensee is still investigating the incident and will provide additional information when it becomes available.
