Falling natural gas prices are spurring a nuclear shutdown
Vermont, idyllic land of farmhouses and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, has claimed America’s latest nuclear power victim. On Tuesday the power producer Entergy said it would shut down its Vermont Yankee nuclear plant, the most recent in a string of such closures.
