Dominion Virginia Power has chosen a nuclear reactor design by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries over an Areva design for a prospective expansion at its Louisa County power plant.
Mitsubishi announced Friday morning that Dominion chose to use its U.S. Advanced Pressurized Water Reactor if it builds a third nuclear power reactor at the North Anna plant.
That choice “was the result of a competitive process conducted by the utility that involved bids from global reactor vendors,” a news release (...)
